Here you will find links to my other web sites and sites of affiliated companies and friends, my resume, information about my hobbies, and some how-to’s. The site is slowly evolving as I have time to add content. I am currently looking for leadership opportunities in technology where I can work with a team, educate others, solve technical and business problems, and make a positive impact. ABOUT ME I am a highly experienced IT professional, entrepreneur, and business owner with 26 years in designing, building, troubleshooting, and supporting large/complex systems. My expertise spans information technology, voice and data communications, sales, customer support, and excellent troubleshooting skills in addition to direct business ownership experience. I excel at designing integrated systems consisting of multiple products and services while working directly with clients of all types. As the owner of Sea-Tech Systems since 2018, I have been responsible for managing all aspects of the business, including accounting, sales, customer service, technical support, and solutions design. I have extensive knowledge of various technologies web, card payment processing, accounting, inventory management, automated billing, and other relevant systems in the business. In just the first 2 years of ownership I successfully grew the business from $50K pre-acquisition annual revenue to over $550K annual revenue. My customer focus, ability to talk to others at any technical level, and deep technical expertise in technology generally and private leisure yacht communications more specifically has earned me a reputation as a highly knowledgeable professional in the field. Prior to my current role, I embarked on a 2-year sailing sabbatical with my family aboard our boat s/v Mobert. During this time, I acquired and operated Sea-Tech Systems remotely while out of the country, showcasing my ability to manage the entire business from anywhere. Through my prior work at and with some of the world’s largest and most recognizable companies, I have become passionate about business continuity and disaster recovery technology, both as an individual contributor and as an external engineer supporting other customers. In my position as a Senior Systems Engineer at EMC Corporation (now Dell Technologies ), I specialized in data storage solutions including traditional SAN, web-scale object, and emerging technologies such as software defined storage. Data protection, resiliency, and business continuance were always an integral part of every project. In that capacity I worked with diverse customers across various industries, maintaining expert-level knowledge in enterprise data storage, extremely large technology environments, automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery. As a Systems Architect at Nintendo of America Inc, I provided overall support for server-based applications and network servers. I was responsible for designing and building SAN infrastructure, implementing backup solutions, and deploying web proxy systems, and designed and built Nintendo of America’s new disaster recovery facility, data protection solutions, and successfully tested a business wide failover. Throughout my career, I have also gained experience as an Infrastructure Systems Engineer at Microsoft Games, a Network Analyst at Microsoft Corp and AT&T Wireless Services, and a Senior Network Administrator at QualMed Health Plan. These roles involved managing network equipment and servers, troubleshooting issues, and implementing various systems and technologies for internal and external customers. In addition to my professional experience, I have been actively involved in charitable work as the President of Charity Through Youthful Living. I hold certifications such as student pilot (FAA), merchant mariner (UOPV/6-Pack, Master 50 Ton, Aux Sail), and have previously achieved Cisco CCNP and EMC Proven, reflecting my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. My other interests encompass flying small airplanes, sailing, technology, aerospace, and travel.
